Digital Campus
The Digital Campus project is a visual representation of a collaboration between two educational institutions: one residing in a digital space, the other physical.
The Digital Campus consists of two maps that can be overlaid to show the merging of two spaces.
The first map depicts the existing physical campus, with its buildings simplified into a vibrant, isometric style. The second map representing the online-based institute is then layered on top. Each branch of the organization is given its own form (building) and strategically added into the existing map.

Project Process
From inspiration to completion

Phase 1 | Inspiration
In phase 1 I researched the isometric design style. Looking at how isometric designs utilize elements such as scale, balance, variety, supporting details, and color, I took notice of what works well in each image and what should be avoided. Applying what I have learned, I began developing a more detailed direction for my project.

Phase 2 | Photo references
In phase 2 I gathered references of the existing campus buildings, layout, and preliminary plans for the upcoming expansion. Additionally, I started forming ideas about what kind of designs I can utilize for my conceptual buildings so that each will have their own unique look, while blending perfectly into the existing campus.

Phase 3 | Grid layout, overlay & 3D base development
In phase 3 I developed a flat layout that allowed me to seamlessly overlay the new conceptual buildings and paths. Once complete, I created the basic 3D shapes of each building, and made any necessary adjustments to create a proportionate and well- balanced image base.

Phase 4 | Color exploration & application
In phase 4 I explored a variety of color palettes. I wanted my colors to be vibrant but not distracting.
I knew my design would contain many small details, so I needed a palette that could make the key elements stand out, without overpowering the overall image.

Phase 5 | Adding details
In the final stage of the project, I added the remaining supporting details to give the campus more life, and frame the tablet base.
